Merapi Sunrise
Sunrise behind Mt. Merapi, seen from Borobudur. Java, Indonesia, 2005.
My wife and I went to Indonesia for our honeymoon. Mostly, we were in Bali, but we headed over to Java to stay one night at Borobudur, to get up before the sun and hike onto the monument for the sunrise. It really is one of those experiences I whole-heartedly recommend to anyone who travels. I'll be putting up a couple more pictures of Borobudur itself soon, but I really like that image of the smouldering mountain - Merapi looked so deceptively peaceful.
