Jatiluwih, Jati = truly, Luwih = marvelous. Literally this is a truly marvelous place.

salt pond
The salt water is fed into evaporation ponds made of compacted soil and separated by levees. Water can only take in so much salt so upon continued evaporation, it breaches “saturation point” which technically means that the solubility limit is reached. Salting out then begins. In saturated brine, salt would remain solid and would be panned in mounds and harvested.

My brother married to a Balinese from Bedulu and I did stay there during the ongoing festival for many days .
Pura Samuan Tiga at Bedulu is one of the most important temples of Bali.
Every year there is a big temple festival that lasts for several days.
Thousands of worshipers from all over Bali join in the celebrations.
