Visit West Kalimantan - Amazing Indonesia

This is Margamulya, located in Montrado district, a remote village about 4 hours drive from Pontianak, West Kalimantan. The 'lake' actually is a large hole in a land where gold miners dug to find their gold. There are quite a number of these 'lakes' in the area. Local people call them 'Dompeng' originated from 'Dong Feng', a Chinese-made gold-mining machine.

Kumbakarna Balinese Wayang Kulit

Kumbakarna Balinese Wayang Kulit, originally uploaded by beobali.
what can i say about wayang culture is that wayang is our (as Indonesian people) culture that is full of art, story, history, politics included, and are well loved by the people of the country. It is our proudness to have one of the culture to be indentified with our country's face. But as the young Indonesian generation grow, Indonesian people may lack of preservation of one of country's loved culture, wayang / shadow puppet. Wayang originally used as story telling of famous ancient hindhu story, Ramayana and Mahabarata. If you do come by around Indonesia, it is highly recommended that you try to watch the wayang show, it is no doubt will be an unforgetable memory that you will treasure in your life!

Well as for the photo i took it for my store, Beobali. It is dedicated for wayang puppeter and wayang maker in Bali by helping them reach the wayang lover around the world.

Rice paddies Ubud

Rice paddies Ubud, originally uploaded by jasonwmak.

This picture was taken a few days ago in Ubud. Not sure exactly where this was, but it was at one of the rice paddies that was walkable from central Ubud.

I just left Indonesia yesterday and I'm currently in Singapore. I'm travelling for the next few months throughout Asia, India, and Africa with my wife and we are also keeping our own blog. (www.excellentadventures09.blogspot.com). Otherwise, we are just posting all our pics on my flickr site.
