One of the most amazing part of the Indonesian culture is WAYANG to me. These photos I took in the WAYANG Museum in Jakarta. A lot of wonderful puppets mostly from the hindu RAMAYANA story.
I think its a very thoughtful way of transforming historical events, legends and stories into these puppets. Somehow its a psychological way how a nation keeps and tells his stories. A WAYANG show is wonderful event.
WAYANG is not only about RAMAYANA. They creat puppets referring to various events. For example meeting with other cultures can be described and expressed in this puppet shows. Just like these Indian ones:
